Ep #29 Career-Changer Series: From PE Teaching to Literacy Problem Solving

In this Career-Changer Series episode, I interview the charming Lois Letchford, who went from PE teaching to becoming a reading specialist and literacy problem solver.

Her journey, however, was not very straightforward one - her career change was not necessarily voluntary or intentional, at least to start with.

She went from living her life as an undiagnosed dyslexic, and having to, essentially, from the scratch create principles and unique techniques to help her son, who also is dyslexic, learn how to read. The same son who was initially branded by his teacher as one of the worst students she’s seen in years - low IQ and incapable to read. The very same son who later went on and got his Ph.D. from Oxford University.

A mother who didn’t give up now has laid the foundations and inspired hope in thousands (perhaps even millions in the future) of mothers and kids with a neurodiverse brain with reading difficulties.

Tune in to hear this awe-inspiring story and collect your pearls of wisdom.
